Cool Congregations Award
Community UCC is honored to have received the Cool Congregations Award of Interfaith Power & Light. The solar array is part of the larger climate change work of the congregation. Thanks to each of our community donors for joining the congregation in this work. Many of you also serve on the pre-weatherization team.

We're generating electricity!

On Thursday, October 15, 2015, we turned on our solar array and began generating electricity!
The array was dedicated to God's work Sunday, February 14, 2016.
Fourth and final seed grant given
We're excited to be supporting Good Shepherd United Church of Christ with a grant of $592.16, the remainder of the funds you helped us raise. This brings the total grants to $1667.16.
Already installed: 24 kW of solar panels now installed at 3 other locations! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to provide two $500 grants to other non-profit solar projects in North Carolina. Read more about Jane and Gary Smith's visit to the dedication of the array on an affordable housing quadruplex, and High Country UCC's team of professional and volunteer installers for their array. A third gift ($75) was given to a pole-mounted teaching array at Jordan High School.
